Over the years many ladies have dropped the toning stage from their routines and I was one of them!
Although not always essential, the introduction of a toner will see the skin benefit. Your toner is not designed to 'remove the last traces of cleanser' as today's cleanser formulations should not leave behind any residue. Today you can select your toner to have an action that will support the rest of your routine and answer many skin concerns.
One purpose of a toner can be to add an extra layer of hydration into your routine and so should not be alcohol based as this will have the opposite effect and dry out the skin. Toners can also have a freshening and even a mild exfoliating action.

This high street toner is from L'Oreal's Age Perfect range which is designed for mature skins. As the name suggests it refreshes the skin with vitamin C which helps to combat the signs of fatigue.

Pixi Glow Tonic
This is a great everyday exfoliating tonic. It helps to brighten skin tone by gently removing dull dead skin cells. The tonic contains ginseng to energise the skin and aloe vera to soothe. If anyone finds Alpha H Liquid Gold a little too much for the skin then try this product as a milder alternative. Great for all skin types

This treatment toner is a serious skincare product that will lighten and brighten the skin using seven Swiss Alpine botanical actives. These actives are proven to inhibit the production of tyrosinase which is the enzyme responsible for the production of melanin.
